Elegant Wedding at the National Arts Centre
We had the privilege of filming Sarah and Michael's enchanting winter wedding at Ottawa's prestigious National Arts Centre (NAC). The iconic venue provided a perfect backdrop for their celebration, combining modern elegance with classic architecture.
The Perfect Winter Setting Despite the December chill, the NAC's floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning views of the Rideau Canal and downtown Ottawa's twinkling lights. The couple chose to have their ceremony in the glass-enclosed O'Born Room, where the setting sun created a magical atmosphere for their vows.
Capturing the Architecture The NAC's unique hexagonal patterns and geometric designs gave us countless opportunities for creative shots. From the grand spiral staircase to the sophisticated Southam Hall lobby, every corner of this venue offered cinematic potential.
Reception Highlights The evening continued in the beautiful Le Salon, where we captured intimate moments between the newlyweds and their guests. The space's warm lighting and acoustic excellence made for perfect documentation of the speeches and first dance.
Personal Touches What made this wedding truly special were the personal elements Sarah and Michael incorporated: - A string quartet from the NAC Orchestra performed during the ceremony - Their signature cocktails were inspired by their first date at a nearby ByWard Market café - The dinner menu featured local Ottawa Valley ingredients
Working at the NAC is always a videographer's dream, but Sarah and Michael's wedding reminded us why we love what we do. Their story, set against the backdrop of one of Ottawa's most prestigious venues, will be remembered for generations through their wedding film.
